Geoff Porritt:

Background and Experience:

30 years ago I started my journey in a hybrid role of business process, finance and IT – and that has been the central theme ever since.  I quickly discovered that my passion lay in two interconnected areas; those of change management and governance.  I enjoy the challenge of delivering change, but equally like to know that it is performed using a sensible approach and with due diligence.

Having been at the coal-face of change delivery across many disciplines, I have an excellent first-hand understanding of what good change management looks like as well as the pitfalls.  In my time I have been a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Coder, Tester, Solutions Architect, Trainer, Project Manager, Programme Manager and, most recently, Delivery Governance.  The next, natural evolution to this is to continue this trajectory into other governance roles as a foundation to a future portfolio of Non-Executive Director roles (NEDs).

My personal ethos is to both help organisations deliver change now, but also equip them to manage change better as they move forwards.  In doing so I seek to build teams that are self-sufficient, but also collaborative with other teams.  It is through this combination that a very strong resilience is borne, and a mind-set of finding ways to overcome all challenges.  I think this chimes particularly well with your vision to work together, encourage innovation and self-belief, as well as acting with a moral purpose and integrity.
